Epilogue
I could feel the slight effect of gravity as my approached be evident. I could now see distinct valleys and mountains on the moons surface. Everything had a bright glow from the light that was cast upon the surface. My heart started beating rapidly, as what appeared to be a hundred miles turned into a hundred yards. And then the yards turned into a hundred feet. And then from a hundred, to ten, to one. I felt my motion subside as my feet touched the ground. I had finally reached my destination. Finally I had reached my goal. It was such a glorious feeling as I looked around at my surroundings. At that moment I was completely satisfied. There was no better feeling in the world and I was truly content. I stood in awe as I pondered in my accomplishments. I gave out a shout of joy and in doing so I reached high in the sky and looked up... To my amazement, I saw high above me, a moon. There was another moon! I just stood there, gaping at this newly observed monstrosity. It was as far away as when I had started on my first journey. And then, out of no where, there appeared another moon almost directly behind the first. And then another appeared and another and yet another. I stood there puzzled, not sure what it meant. But even thought I did not quite understand the meaning, I was no longer satisfied with the moon that I was on. The glorious feeling was gone. I now felt compelled to go on. I didn't know why but the feeling overcame me. I extended my arms and pounced which sent me sailing through space. I found myself once again floating weightlessly and without much control. Trying to keep my head forward with the new moon always in sight. Twisting and spinning and forever reaching... Reaching for the moon.
